Free Cards Friday ~ Yammy Cookies ~ Getting Out The Door

Good day!
It is going to be hot here today, so I am trying to wrangle my boys to get some outdoor stuff done early - yah, it has taken me 2 hours to get them and me out of the house. In my house it is a constant ~ Me waiting on my boys: "Just one more second!" "okay, hold on!" (hmmm, I'll do this one more thing while he is doing that... like a quick blog post) Then they are waiting on me. Then they decide to do one more thing, then....


And on and on and on until we are usually late for wherever we are going.

Here is an idea for a yummy snack we named Yammy Cookies - when I made them I didn't bake them quite long enough so they were a bit soft, but delicious!

Camas Live ~ People's Choice Award ~ 2 Local Photographers

Camas Live 2010 filled me up and wiped me out this last weekend! It was a lot of fun, a lot of work and a joy to meet so many new people. Thank you to all who came to downtown Camas to share conversations and art.

I was very honored to receive an award of People's Choice at the end of the event - I was surprised and honored (and embarrassed because I stepped away from my booth for 5 minutes the whole weekend and it was in those five minutes that the award was announced from the stage... oopsie!) Thank you to those who voted!

I had the fortune of being placed next to two very talented photographers, Angi Slocum and Carla Foth Christian - Carla generously snapped the above photos of my booth, her work is gorgeous.

Free Cards Winner ~ Flower Jewelry

A week ago, at the park, my four year old had an idea that inspired and excited him ~ jewelry made from flowers!

So, we spent a wonderful morning creating... and I thought it might be fun to share the projects they were so proud of.

I wore my purple bracelet the rest of the day til it wilted right off my arm :)

Today, I have been preparing like crazy for the upcoming event at English Estate Winery - my studio is a production studio for sure - glass charms, prints, cards... and that is only my portion of the studio! My boys have gone crazy creating games and computer software (out of cardboard and tape) - I am unimaginably proud of those two little creative boys - I can hardly wrap my heart around my pride and admiration for them - they amaze me, daily.



Have a wonderful week, I'm going to focus on rest this week - getting full nights of sleep - which HEY! may be a juxtaposition with the big show this weekend... it is going to be a GREAT one!

UPCOMING EVENT: Saturday and Sunday, July 10 & 11 will bring the talked-about English Estate Winery Art & Wine Fair in Vancouver, WA and I will be honored to have a booth there with paintings, prints, cards and charms.

Free Cards Friday ~ 17 Children with Paints (in my garage) - Oh My!

A group of myself and 6 additional mothers from our elementary school have decided to keep in touch and keep our children inspired this summer with some pre-planned activity days.

It took an hour for 7 mothers to agree on 4 dates when we were all free throughout the summer!

Our activity dates include Art, Nature (The Shape of Our Land), Building (The Shape of Our Cities) & Food Science.

The first event chosen by me (Art of course!) was yesterday afternoon - in my garage - and I had the honor of leading all 17 of our children (age 2- grade 3) through types of printing, using paint, paper and cardboard and a variety of different textured things.

We talked about Monoprints and Relief Prints and then jumped in and got messy. I'm honored to share with you some of the lovely artworks they created.

Thank you to our Kmoms group for coming and sharing time, paint and textured things... and for the results of some uniquely creative and inspiring artwork, happy messy kids and blue shoe prints all over my garage floor...

This activity held the attention of 95% of them for almost an hour, the clean-up took close to two :)

Free Cards Winner, Upcoming Love Art! Gallery Event

Love Art! Gallery announces their First Anniversary celebration.
