Free Cards (& Free Book!) Friday

It's Free Cards Friday! Add your note to this blog post (here at the blog or on the Facebook page) throughout the weekend and be in the running to win some cards ~ I'll choose the winner on Monday.

This week, I'd also like to give away my copy of Louise Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life" ~ a book that is more than lovely ~ in message and aesthetic quality.

Here is the Amazon review for this book:

If you haven't seen Hay House's Lifestyles series of gorgeous gift books, there is no better way to acquaint yourself than with publisher/author Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life. A bestseller for many years, You Can Heal Your Life has been republished with bright, beautiful illustrations in full, living color and exquisite typography--each and every page is a work of art by artist Joan Perrin Falquet.

The timeless message of the book is that we are each responsible for our own reality and "dis-ease." Hay believes we make ourselves ill by having thoughts of self-hatred. She includes a directory of ailments and emotional causes for each with a corresponding affirmation to help overcome the illness. For example, the probable cause of multiple sclerosis is "mental hardness, hard-heartedness, iron will, and inflexibility." The healing "thought pattern" would be: "By choosing loving, joyous thoughts, I created a loving joyous world. I am safe and free."
--P. Randall Cohan

This gift edition is a beautiful book complete with four-color illustrations throughout. "An excellent book for restructuring one's life and finding self- esteem and self-love."

Comment and let me know if you are interested ~ to be in the running. Thanks!

Love & Sincerely, Katie

  3. Your art strikes a chord within me that captures the love I feel for my own children. Sometimes though, I get busy with my day and short-tempered with my little ones. More than once I have glanced at my copy of "Linger" hanging on the wall when in my hurriedness and it remindes me to slow down and just savor my babies. Thank you!

  5. Lovely sounding book. But it can't compare with the loveliness of your paintings. Perusing your Etsy is my favorite passtime. I've sent links of my favorite prints to my husband to keep in his "gift ideas" arsenal. Can't wait for the day when I can buy my own original.

  8. As I have said before, your art touches me and my family. Each new painting has me saying "Honey, look at this one... doesn't this remind you of Ava (our 10 month old) or Hanna (his 4 year old)? I would love to read the book as well. Thank you for sharing and for painting these paintings which touch our lives and are slowly filling up my bare walls- in between our family photos are your paintings!!

  9. ManyPants, those are my thoughts exactly! I actually woke up in the middle of last night thinking, "I own a Berggren-original! How cool is that?" :D But I must warn you - one is never enough. I still wander through Katie's etsy site everyday and get so excited when something new is available.
