Free Cards Friday ~ The State Of The Studio ~ Commissioned Painting

It's Black Friday ~ and I will NOT be out facing-off with the shopping crowds (maybe just a tiny bit at Fred Meyers after the rush). If you are going, be safe and have fun!

The Studio has been a busy place!

And I'm proud to show here an image of a commissioned painting in process (below). I'm looking forward to working further on this one!
Thank you S.A. for this opportunity to paint for you and your little sweet son.

HERE'S A QUESTION FOR YOU: How are you going to make THIS holiday season different? Will you give more/give less, share more, begin a new tradition? I'd love to be inspired by you.

It's Free Cards Friday! Add your comment to this blog post (here at the blog or on the Facebook page) throughout the weekend and be in the running to win some cards ~ I'll choose the winner on Monday.

Love & Sincerely, Katie

  1. This is a holiday of many firsts for myself. It's the first holiday in a new home with my darling partner. It's the first holiday without my mother who's inspired me to be the person that I want to be. It's the first holiday beginning new beginning new family traditions and getting back to the roots of what the holidays are really are. This holiday I see myself giving less stuff', but giving so much more in emotional love and handmade things. I think I've strayed too far from Christmas and family, concerning myself with nonimportant things.

I hope that this holiday is beautiful for everyone.

  2. This holiday season is going to be different than any other I have ever had. I started the year off with every intention of it being the usual present-focused, selfish holiday it has become (for me, at least). Then my son was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (a cancerous brain tumor), three weeks ago, and things changed.

This year, we will both be focusing on what we should focus on: family, love, faith, and giving. We have developed a closer bond through this trial, and it is only going to get tighter as he goes through chemo therapy and radiation. This Christmas, it will all be about the sweet everyday miracle of life.
